According to the limited diagnoses carried out, discrimination continues to affect the lives of many LGBTQIA+ people and their families in Portugal, with almost no entities properly trained and sensitive to their specific needs, especially […] in the Central region of the country.
Thus, this project aims to develop a holistic intervention in the Central region of the country to increase knowledge of the specific needs of the local LGBTQIA+ population and the training of inter-municipal communities, alleviating existing coordination gaps and creating a working network for monitoring and coordination with technical supervision.
In the absence of a territorial needs assessment, this project aims to fill this gap and identify needs and gaps to be identified by both public and social service technicians and the community itself.
Moreover, this project aims to equip a national territory that currently has no responses for the LGBTQIA+ population and their families, strengthening its networked work articulated with other entities on the ground, enabling them to interact more appropriately with LGBTQIA+ people.
