IMPASSES AND SETBACKS IN 21ST CENTURY CRIMINAL PROCEDURE

This project aims to carry out a critical-reflexive study of the current state of criminal procedure, with a special focus on the problem of evidence. As a result, it will seek to present solutions that can contribute to the corresponding legislative evolution.

The study will be progressive, following the evolution of the research being carried out by the doctoral students, who will be called upon to make a critical reflective analysis of an issue that is part of their area of research, within the proposed objectives, namely:
– Assess the relevance of constitutional criminal procedural principles;
– To ascertain whether the principles are respected or disrespected in legal practice;
– To uncover the main problems in the area of evidence in its various phases;
– Finding solutions to the problems encountered without forgetting the indispensable respect for citizens’ rights, freedoms and guarantees.
