Launch and presentation of the book “Os Sistemas Europeu e Interamericano de Proteção de Direitos Humanos: uma Leitura Comparada”

On December 10th, at 2:30 p.m., the José Saramago Library at the Polytechnic of Leiria will host the Public Presentation and Debate of the collective work “Os Sistemas Europeu e Interamericano de Proteção de Direitos Humanos: uma Leitura Comparada“* (“The European and Inter-American Systems of Human Rights Protection: A Comparative Reading”, in free translation), coordinated by Susana Almeida (Director of the Leiria hub of IJP) and Andrés Rousset (University of Cuyo, Argentina).

Published by Aranzadi, the book promotes reflections on enhancing Human Rights protection on both sides of the ocean and involves the collaboration of around 60 authors from Portugal, Spain, and various Latin American countries, including contributions from numerous researchers at the Portucalense Legal Institute (IJP).

The presentation will be led by former Judge of the European Court of Human Rights, Ireneu Cabral Barreto, and will feature a hybrid session, allowing participation from both authors and the general public.

The book will soon be available in the Repository.

*This work was supported by the UIDB/04112/2020 Program Contract, funded by national funds through the FCT I.P.
