Lisbon Branch Coordinator represents IJP during week of activities in Brazil
Francisco Nicolau Domingos, the coordinator of the Lisbon branch of the IJP, attended various events in São Paulo, Brazil, during the week of 24-28 November 2025.
He was a speaker at the round tables ‘New trends in tax enforcement and tax arbitration regulation’ and ‘Hypotheses for submitting tax and customs disputes to arbitration: criteria and possibilities’, which were held at the Brazilian Institute of Tax Law (IBDT) headquarters as part of a series of debates entitled ‘Tax Arbitration: the Portuguese experience and lessons for the construction of the Brazilian model’, promoted by the Centre for Consensus on Tax and Customs Matters (CCMT) in partnership with the IBDT.
He also participated in Law Week at Mackenzie Presbyterian University, delivering a presentation on the topic of ‘Financial autonomy of municipalities’. He also spoke at the 32nd edition of the National Congress of Postgraduate Studies in Law (Conpedi), on the panel ‘Municipal Autonomy and Tax Competence: Constitutional Foundations and Current Challenges”, presenting the lecture “Tax Reform on Consumption in Brazil and Portuguese VAT”.
The researcher’s activities in Brazil strengthen the IJP’s international presence, as well as the scientific cooperation between Portugal and Brazil, which is reinforced by the Unit.
