IJP Hosts International Conference “Justice Without Borders: 40 Years of European Integration”
On 23 October, at 10:00 a.m., the Portucalense Legal Institute (IJP) will host the international conference “Justice Without Borders: 40 Years of European Integration – Celebrating the European Day of Justice.” The event will reflect on the impact of European integration on the development of Law and Justice in Portugal, marking both the 40th anniversary of Portugal’s accession to the European Union and the European Day of Justice.
The conference aims to foster discussion on the construction of the European Area of Justice, the current instruments and challenges of judicial cooperation within the European context, and the possibilities for dialogue with experiences of cooperation across the Lusophone world, from a comparative perspective.
The programme will feature contributions from IJP integrated researchers and collaborators, who will present findings from their research in these fields, as well as invited national and international speakers, including academics and legal practitioners. The conference seeks to promote scientific debate and knowledge sharing, strengthening the connection between academic research, legal practice, and the wider community.
The event is open to the academic community, legal professionals, and the general public. Participation is free of charge, subject to prior registration.
